~ 40th Annual CSF Dinner Dance ~

Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the 40th annual Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield Dinner Dance on Saturday, February 11th at the Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham. The evening begins with a social hour at 6:30 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner at 7:30 p.m. Dancing music will be provided by DJ Ken Babin.

Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased at the CSF office at the Americal Civic Center,  (781) 245-4890, or by Mastercard and Visa at the Wakefield Item, 26 Albion Street. ~ 20th Annual Trivia Team Challenge ~

Local trivia fans and supporters of CSF are invited to participate in the 20th Annual Trivia Team Challenge. It's fun, it's different, it's challenging, it's exciting - AND all the proceeds from the event go directly to CSF of Wakefield to be given as scholarships in June. Oh, and did we mention it's the hottest competition in town?

Teams consist of four players who can be sponsored by a business, community or school organization or simply groups of friends and family can get together to form a team. All teams are quizzed at the same time. Team members consult among themselves to arrive at a consensus answer for the team. Trophies will be awarded to the top six teams. A Rookie of the Year Trophy will also be presented to the highest-scoring first-time entry. Categories will include: literature, entertainment, movies, music, sports, geography, TV, history and odds & ends.

The team entry fee is a $l00 tax-deductible donation payable to CSF of Wakefield, Inc. Admission is free and light refreshments and coffee will be provided. Spectators are encouraged to attend! A cash bar (beer and wine) will be available during the event and an exciting raffle will be held.

~ Start a Scholarship Fund ~

Thinking about starting a Scholarship Fund? Scholarship Funds can be established for any reason. What better way to honor a family member, teacher, coach, or mentor whether living or deceased? Better yet, establish a Fund in your own name and start your own legacy! Funds can also be established in the name of a business or organization. Scholarship Funds are truly the gift that keeps on giving. Endowed Funds (meaning that they have reached a minimum balance of $5,000) will continue to provide scholarships into perpetuity. Each year, we pass along the story of your Fund in the form of biographical information to the Scholarship recipient. There is no better feeling in the world than to read a thank you note from a grateful college student.

To start a Fund, $500 is required with the promise of future yearly donations of at least $500 for the following ten years. If you are not ready to commit to a Fund yet but still want to help a student directly, we offer a One-time Scholarship for a minimum donation of $300. With a One-time Scholarship a Scholarship in the name of you, your honoree, business or organization will be made the following June to a deserving student. Your entire donation is disbursed.
